Beca Barcelona Crea 2026

 

Piramidón, Centre d’Art Contemporani opens the call for the Barcelona Crea Grant 2026, a six-month artistic residency aimed at contemporary visual artists with residence in or a connection to Barcelona and its metropolitan area.

With the support of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), this grant is part of the Barcelona Crea program and aims to promote new production projects, encourage experimentation, and foster connections with the local and international artistic community.

The selected artist will have access to a private studio of up to 120 m² at Piramidón, with 24-hour access, privileged views over Barcelona, use of common spaces, and access to the workshop with technical assistance. In addition, they will be able to participate in the centre’s regular activities, such as paella gatherings, monthly meetings, and, as part of Piramidón’s program, a group exhibition. They will also have the opportunity to present a solo show in the centre’s Viewing Room.

The residency will take place from July 1, 2026, to January 30, 2027.

Who can apply?
Artists in the conceptualization, research, or pre-production phase of an unpublished project may apply. Applicants must reside in Barcelona or, alternatively, demonstrate a connection to the city (or that the project involves it). Applicants must also have exhibited in a gallery or art centre within the past three years.
