Pedro Hoz (1999) is an emerging artist from Málaga whose practice unfolds within a surreal universe where the everyday is subtly transformed until it acquires a strange and unsettling quality. His work starts from recognisable forms and imagery charged with cultural resonances to create scenes and objects that appear familiar, yet shift into an ambiguous territory between visual attraction and conceptual unease.

Through works such as his large-scale crosses crowned with red spheres, Hoz reinterprets symbols of strong historical and emotional significance, activating new readings around sacrifice, memory, and the tension between the popular and the ritual. In his practice, form functions not only as an aesthetic vehicle but also as a tool for raising questions about the persistence of certain imaginaries and their capacity to continue generating meaning in the present.

His practice combines a highly refined formal sensitivity with a precise conceptual approach, achieving a balance between visual impact and symbolic depth. At the intersection of the recognisable and the unsettling, Pedro Hoz has developed a distinctive visual language that positions him as one of the most promising voices in the contemporary art scene.
