Eva Miquel holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona, and her work is based on a reflective approach to the relationship between drawing, photography, and video. Throughout her career, she has uniquely combined these disciplines, constantly seeking a connection between graphite and photography. She uses a camera to capture poetic moments that she then meticulously draws with pencil on paper. Her work stands out for its textures, grey tones, and the trace of the pencil, creating evocative images that explore silence, reflected in unsettling landscapes, absorbed characters, and masses trapped in anguish.
Her photographic practice adds a new dimension to her creations, using techniques such as enlargement and serial reproduction, and experimenting with supports like lightboxes. This fusion of photography and drawing results in a contemporary, poetic, and intriguing body of work. After specializing in engraving, Eva Miquel discovered photography and video as mediums to develop her vision of the world, and she continues to explore the expressive possibilities that photography offers her.
