Piramidón, Centre d’Art Contemporani, has opened the call for the Barcelona Crea 2025 Grant, a six-month artistic residency for contemporary visual artists with residence or ties to Barcelona and its metropolitan area. With the support of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB), this grant is part of the Barcelona Crea program and aims to promote new creation projects, encourage experimentation, and foster connections with the local and international artistic community.

The winner of the 2025 edition is Mikel Adán, who will carry out his residency between January and July 2026. During the residency, Mikel Adán will develop the project Tortuga de closca tova, a sculptural investigation into the relationship between matter, time, and ephemeral processes. Using butter as the main material, the project explores the fragility and transformation of matter, questioning the permanence of sculpture and placing disappearance and change as an essential part of the artistic language. Through the combination of soft and hard materials, the work generates a poetics of disappearance that reflects on sustainability, transience, and resistance to the accumulative logic of art and the market.
